“The career of HR/Admin came to me by chance. Graduating from the university where I was trained to become an interpreter, I refused offers of this position in some companies and accepted to work as an HR/Admin staff. I didn’t know whether it was a destiny to me, yet, I love it and I will continue to pursue it for the rest of time. CIMAS is my first company. I don’t know why I love it “at first sight”. May be when I came here, I was welcome by a family of decent people with pleasant faces, bright eyes and gentle characters. The strong sense of belonging to this organization overwhelmed my heart. Sometimes, the first impression may be wrong. However, the longer I stay with CIMAS, the more I know how right my decision was.” Phương continued.

One normal day with work up to my ears.  2pm, all people were silently concentrating on work, suddenly, Ms. Ly – one HR/Admin staff came to my seat and asked:

–  Heard something new yet?

– What’s up? ( my eyes keeps adhering to the papers on the table, I had to finish this work by the end of this afternoon)

– Ms. Phuong wins the award Best Employee of this Quarter.

– What! Really! Oh my Gosh! Great!~

I raised my head towards the “closest neighbor”, “congratulations! my dear sister”, I said in a voice of cheer. Many colleagues gathered around Phuong to share happiness with her while her face was alighting with delight. What a bright day!

Phuong, our “central character” in this article comes from HR/Admin Department. If you randomly ask any engineer about what exactly an HR/Admin officer do? Nine out ten engineers have the same answers: “I have no idea!”

“I don’t know, either. (laughed out loud!) Phuong shared. In the first working days, I totally have no concept of what I would be responsible for and where I could begin  “The career of HR/Admin came to me by chance. It cannot be denied that Phuong speaks  the most proficient English as the second language user in CIMAS, which partly because of her major, English Interpretation in College of Foreign Languages. The other reason is her creativity and non-stop study. Beside paperwork dealt in English, Phuong still spends time practising and sharing her own knowledge to others, which also improves her communication skills a lot.

“No one has such a charming voice like Ms Phuong”, It’s hard to forget her soft and sweet voice over the phone while she called me to inform I was selected in recruitment. Many newcomers and colleagues shared. Pham Ba Vinh, Electrical engineer exclaims, “she is very kind, indeed.” She is always available for help without any hesitation. Meanwhile, Instrument engineer Nguyen Thanh Tuan agrees that Phuong is a gentle and enthusiastic co-worker. “She always put as much efforts as possible in company affairs, from administrative works to public events and parties. She absolutely deserves to win the title Best Employee for what she has done.”

Beside professional work, in CIMAS, HR/Admin department is responsible for all trivial things It can be compared them with “persons in the rear” who are willing to give 24/7 support to “soldiers” at the front. In all company activities, they always stand behind the stage to support other colleagues with their job-love and devotion. They do their best without asking for any gratitude or reciprocation. “In this aspect, Ms. Phuong is a perfect reflection of what I’ve said. So it’s easy to see how she wins the recognition of everyone”, Hưng said

As an author of this small piece, let me have little space to talk about my Department member. CIMAS is the first company that I’ve worked for after my graduation. Therefore, everything was brand new to me. However, all these difficulties were relieved thanks to the great help of Ms. Phuong. It’s not exaggerated to say that she was my teacher; she guided me every tiny thing carefully to make sure that I can complete my task in the best way. I often surprise at her long memory that she can realize the voice of every CIMAS engineer by phone or she can remember which university they graduated and where they were born, etc. But at the moment, I can understand it’s resulted from not only her great ability but also her huge love to co-workers.

In the second quarter of 2013, besides normal work she had to be in charge of, Phương had to take over one additional assignment: work as the editor for articles written by CIMAS employees which would be published on CTCI Monthly Magazine. Even though her name was not printed in any article, she gained another greater achievement: appreciation of CIMAS BOD and other colleagues.
