This is a sample project sponsored by Japan for Vietnam to build the 1st Industrial waste power generation system in Vietnam. With Japan’s advanced waste to energy technology, the plant can treat a capacity of 75 tons of industrial waste per day  to generate 1.93 MW of electricity. The Japanese partner supplied all the main equipment of the plant and technology transfer. The Vietnamese partner carried out the technical engineering design, construction and installation of the whole plant, coordinated with Japanese experts to execute the training and commissioning of the plant. Being a pioneer project in the process of modern industrial waste treatment in Vietnam, the plant has been implemented in the framework of cooperation between the two states of Vietnam and Japan under the Green Aid Program (GAP) of Japanese.

The project was built on an area of 16,809 m2 at Nam Son Waste Treatment Complex, Soc Son District, Hanoi. The total investment of the project is 645.202 million VND, of which the non-refundable aid of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) of Japan is equivalent to 472.188 million VND. The counterpart from the Hanoi city budget is 173.015 million VND.

The EPC Contractor of the project is the Consortium of LILAMA 69-1 Joint Venture Company and CIMAS Engineering Company Ltd., executed the main package No.1 “Engineering technical design, supply and purchase the auxiliary equipment for the plant, construction, installation, training and operation of the plant based on operating documents of Japanese partner to provide a model project to build industrial waste system to generate electricity for the scope of work executed by  Vietnamese partner stipulated in the project documents.”

After 22 months of aggressive execution,, the plant has been completed and the Firing Ceremony was held for this special event on 16th Sep. 2016. During commissioning period Japanese experts highly evaluated the provided equipment which meets the current standards, complies with design and got approval from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Electricity of Vietnam and Hanoi Electricity Corporation.
